A Sad Week for Apple Fans or a New Beginning

Posted: August 30, 2011 in All

Hope you all had a great Bank holiday weekend? I can tell you that I spent most of time doing DIY which I often find quite therapeutic as long as it’s out in the sunshine and in the back garden with the kids to keep me company. Always feel when you been running a business as I have for 12 years that family re so important.

Last week was a bit of a surprise for all us Apple fans. Mr Jobs announcing he could no longer fulfil his duties and would resign as chief executive was no real surprise but I think most of us expected it. Tim Cook has taken on the helm and promised its all business as usual. “Steve built a company and culture that is unlike any other in the world and we are going to stay true to that — it is in our DNA,” Cook, 50, wrote in a memo to staff.

Good to hear, but should we all be worried about Apples future? I dont really think so although Mr Jobs has been the face of the company through good and bad it should never be one person that makes a business but a collective team of enthusiastic people that have worked and strived to make Apple what it is today. Yes Steve Jobs was the figure head but with the likes of Jonathan Ive Senior Vice President of Industrial Design that have moulded the success of the company. I think there is to point to my post there are many other in the company that can still keep Apple at the top of it’s game.

It’s the people that make a company and its not just about one man.
